Rosaline Yam

President

Rosaline is the President of GIVES.She believes it is a privilege to serve in this role and to work together with the fellow GIVES Committees building GIVES to be a long term expatriate community service platform in China .Such a platform, she said, represents services of friendship and support  to their host country by joining the hands of the different expatriate sectors to encourage and to empower individual lives. 


It is in such a strategic role that Rosaline serves businesses and the community at large, providing both vision and direction. In her business involvement, she represents Sungrace Investment in international and local investment projects. Rosaline is also a founding Director of the Australian Chamber  South China for 16 years.


An Australian citizen, she received her Master’s Degree of Commercial Law from Australia.



Matt Horn

Media, Marketing & Sports

Matt is responsible for GIVES Media, Marketing and Sports portfolios, providing innovative and professional input in highlighting work that GIVES does across a range of platforms. He not only serves on the Executive Board of GIVES, but has been our regular MC at events major fund raising events and auction activities for a decade. 


Matt is a sports journalist from the UK, as well as a journalism lecturer at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou. There he runs a course on behalf of UK based University of Central Lancashire, which has also become a GIVES supporter. He is actively involved in the promotion of Guangdong and is one of the hosts of “Face Time” on GDTV World and the host of “My Guangdong” on Radio Guangdong, Both shows and stations have helped GIVES with coverage and support. 


Matt recently received a MBE award from the Queen honouring him for his development of journalism as well as his charity work with GIVES here in China for more than ten years. He was also honoured here in China with the Friend of Guangdong award in 2005 and the International Friendship Award in 2012.




Janet Xu

Treasurer

Janet serves as the Treasurer of GIVES, providing her professional guidance and financial management for  GIVES.


Janet is a Chartered Accountant and  tax partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers Guangzhou office.

James Zeng

Legal Counsel

James serves on the Board as legal counsel to GIVES, providing professional guidance and assistance in its daily operations. 


He is a partner with King & Wood Mallesons. His areas of practice include corporate and commercial, merger and acquisition, foreign direct investment, banking and finance technology transfer, international trade and securities. James received his Bachelor Degree from Beijing, Graduate Diploma in Commercial Law  and LLB from Australia.


Troy Appleton

Guangzhou International Christian Fellowship (GICF) Coordinator

Troy serves as coordinator between GIVES and the Guangzhou International Christian Fellowship (GICF) which constitutes more than 50 different nationalities in the congregation. He encourages this  diversified expatriate community to reach out and support the different GIVES projects in the local and rural areas.


Troy is a Humanities and English teacher at an International School. Coming from Australia, he has resided in Guangzhou since late 1997.

Vincent Ng

Technology

Vincent is responsible for advising and making technology continues to work for GIVES. 


He is the director of product management in Telenav, a leading provider for connected car and location-based services. Before that, he was the product director for a couple of technology brands, Philips, in the assisted driving domain, and Alcatel, in the smartphone arena. Coming from Malaysia, he has been in China since 2007 and obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the U.K.

Krzysztof brings significant support and awareness of GIVES work to the consulate community.

Alastair Morgan

Consul-General, British Consulate-General Guangzhou

Alastair is an active supporter of community services in Guangdong. In his capacity as the Consul-General, British Consulate-General Guangzhou, he often hosts projects in encouragement and support of such work. 


His background and experience includes serving as the Commercial Counsellor and Director of Trade & Investment for China in the British Embassy Beijing from March 2007 to December 2010, First Secretary (Trade Policy) in the British Embassy Tokyo and  Counsellor Trade Policy and Director of Inward Investments and the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry 2001-2002.

Harley Sevedin

President, American Chamber of Commerce in South China

CEO, First Washington Group

Harley provides active support to GIVES bringing awareness and promoting GIVES work to the Chamber community. 


Harley is President of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China and CEO of First Washington Group. He was a recipient of an award in business from the US Department of Commerce. He received recognition from The US Senate Sergeant at Arms for his service to the US Senate Deliberations. He served two terms on the Maryland Advisory Board of the United States Civil Rights Commission.

Daisy Yang

Professor and Chief of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, Center of Assistant Reproductive Technology

Daisy represents the spirit and work of GIVES through her involvement and valuable services to the diversified and growing women sectors. 


Daisy is Professor and Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Center of Assistant Reproductive Technology (ART center), and Postgraduates (Master and Doctoral Degrees) Supervisor. Her subspecialty is Gynecological Endocrinology and Assistant Reproductive Technology (ART). She is a member of the editorial boards of the Human Reproduction Updates in Focus (Chinese version), Chinese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chinese Journal of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology, Journal of Reproductive Medicine and Chinese Journal of Practical Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Andrew Kelly

United Kingdom

Andrew Kelly and his wife Lynn had lived in Guangzhou since 1996. They have two grown-up children now living back in Britain. 


Andrew is the Managing Director of Yule Catto Asia Ltd, which is the Asian subsidiary of Yule Catto & Co plc, a UK-based speciality chemicals group which was founded in 1908. 


Andrew had been on the Leadership Team of GICF, the Guangzhou International Christian Fellowship before he gone back to the Britain in 2011.

Neelam Gupta

India

Neelam Gupta joined GIVES as a volunteer in Dec 2004. She soon got very involved and decided to become GIVES member in Feb 2005 in charge of Rehabilitation & Prosthetics. 


She is married. Her husband works for P&G. Their eldest son has returned to Guangzhou after graduating from Computer Networking and Telecommunications in the US, and has started his own company. Their younger son is studying Business Administration and Finance in the US. The family is originally from India and moved to Guangzhou from Kobe, Japan in Aug 2003. She has Masters degree in Biochemistry and worked for P&G and J&J before deciding to be a home maker and social worker.

Saskia Roos

Netherlands

Saskia lives in the Netherlands, but was living in Guangzhou from 1997 till 2001. 


In that time she was active in GIVES as an initiator and coordinator of different programmes. GIVES’ involvement in the orphanage, the Huiling Homes for the Handicapped, the Rehabilitation Centre and the contacts with the Disabled Federation and the Childrens Hospital where children could undergo surgery, started in those years. The first food fair was organised to raise money for the various projects and expats were inspired to contribute and support. The years after, Saskia stayed involved in GIVES’ projects and gave a lecture on elderly care for the staff of Care Homes in Guangzhou. She adviced on new projects, such as the set up of the orthopaedic shoe centre. 


Back in the Netherlands she is active with elderly people and in teaching students and children all over the world about hiv/aids, the facts and the risks, using tools developed in The Netherlands. China is one of the countries where she comes regularly to give workshops and she never forgets to come to Guangzhou
